Preparing for Christmas at a cabin in Scandinavia? Been there, done that and just so you know, it’s extremely cozy.

Cozy is also the End of Fall set by Barley Home & Decor; The rocking chair, wall wraith, crate, fir tree and boots are all in this set and you can find it right now at the Enchantment event but hurry up, the event closes December 2nd!

The Winter Dream Chair Set is a new mainstore release by HJM Designs, consisting of the arm chair, side table, rug, advent candles and star wall light.

The puppies and I have been on a mission to find the perfect Christmas tree and we did so in the most beautiful setting. The girls are excited that we’re bringing a whole tree inside the house.. but no chewing on it! This is also why I can’t put my presents under the tree. They are very good puppers, but they just can’t resist opening presents!

Freezing Over

As if I don’t have enough snow and cold in real life, I went ahead and made it snow outside The Bar @ HaVen. While I was finishing up the ground cover, Little Branch released a new tree so I figured I’d take a picture of it right here before I clutter up the parcel with all sorts of wintery bushes, trees and decor.

Little Branch is at this round of Uber with another beautiful tree; the Zelkova Serrata. Delicately animated like it’s moving to a light breeze. Touch it to bring up the season changer menu. My picture shows the Winter version. The tree is at 7 Li out of the box, but it’s Copy/Mod and resizing it will change the Land Impact.

I dug up the Tree Sled Rezzer from my inventory. It’s a past release by CHEZ MOI so you can find this in their mainstore and marketplace. You and your friends can have some fun in the snow, just click the sign to rez a sled, choose either male or female animation and off you go! Be careful not to swoosh off world!

It’s a Feeling..

Christmas isn’t a season.
It’s a feeling.

For me, the Christmas feeling usually arrives on the evening the day before Christmas Eve. In Norway, Christmas Eve is the big day and traditionally December 23rd is the day Norwegians decorate their Christmas trees (what they used to anyway, it seems a lot of people do that earlier in December now) and what we did.. or rather, what Santa did, when I was a kid. Yes that’s right; in our house, Santa brought the tree inside and decorated it while my sister and I were sleeping. When we woke up on Christmas Eve morning, our stockings were filled and the tree was decorated with all the gifts placed underneath it. We each got to pick one gift to open in the morning but then we had to wait until after Christmas Eve dinner to open the rest of them.

Showcasing several goodies today, maybe you’ll find something that’ll put you in a SL Holiday spirit?

The Vintage Sled by DaD will be available at this upcoming round of Uber and it will be made available in PG and Adult versions, filled with awesome single and couples animations. In my picture, Mahogany and I are using one of the PG cuddle animations found in the sled.

At Tannenbaum you can find the most adorable log reindeer by Galland Homes, a wonderful decor item for the holidays!

The popular Candy Cane Hunt just opened and Never Totally Dead… is offering the super cute Munchies Tray with milk and cookie for Santa and carrots for Rudolph! You can go on the hunt or just hop on over to the Never Totally Dead… mainstore to pick up this prize. Easy peasy!

To make this scene wintery cosy I’ve used conifere and genevrier both by La Petite Vie. They are copy/mod, come in animated and non-animated versions. Touch brings up a texture change menu. You can find the trees at the La Petite Vie mainstore.

New tattoo for men by CAROL G is out at Men Only Monthly and it’s beautiful. I couldn’t find any pants in my closet that didn’t cover the bottom part of the tattoo so it had to be a towel or boxers because, you know, my pictures are rated Safe. I went with towel. Hope you like! The tattoo, of course.

If you read my previous blog post, you already know I have snow where I live. So, if Mahogany suddenly were able to teleport over, we would certainly NOT stay outside in the snow very long we would mostly have hygge-time inside by the fireplace but…

First Snow

The first snow came in the last week of October, here in Northern Norway. We got about 30 cm (a foot) of snow overnight and it stuck. The world looked like in my picture for several days after. Have you ever tried walking Dachshunds in a foot of snow? 😅

I’m happy to inform you that the “Snow Roof add on Beachyhead House” is now available! Find it at the DaD mainstore and marketplace.

The Snow Add On is 17 Li and Copy/Mod. To use it on your Beachyhead House, rez the “Snow add on Beachyhead House”, edit the Beachyhead House and copy the position and rotation coordinates of the house to the add on.

If you don’t own it already; The Beachyhead House is two floors with windows on three sides for views to the outside and for the light to pour in. It has a large deck in front, two large sliding glass doors open into the house. The doors can be left open so that you have an open floor plan, which makes it great for entertaining. Immediately to the left are 3 steps down that lead you into another large room. Next to the stairs is the staircase going up to the second floor that has a small balcony looking down to the first floor. The second floor has a large bedroom and/or other room.

Throughout the house you have a mixture of wood, brick and solid color textures to accentuate the home. Other features included in the home is the glass wall partitions that separates the rooms below and also borders the stairs and the top balcony. The Beachyhead House is 104 Li, Copy/Mod and its footprint is 35,5×28 out of the box.
