The Blue Hour

My last post this year and I’m dedicating it to a natural phenomenon which is called The Blue Hour. Where I live, we experience this light, during the Polar Night, in the middle of the day when the sun is at its highest yet still below the horizon. It’s magical and no picture can do it justice.

Hello 2020!

As we say good bye 2019 I’m thinking about what a year it’s been for me, in “both lives”. Well, I’m one who doesn’t separate the two, but I’m not going to talk about that right now.

What a year it’s been! I’ve only two years as a resident; a year and a half ago I started taking pictures and getting familiar with the viewer camera tools. I did a couple of blog post at the end of 2018, just for fun. Then in the beginning of 2019 I decided I wanted to give blogging a serious go so I found a couple of sponsors that were willing to give a total newbie a chance and the ball started rolling.

After seeing each other online for 8 months, M and I met up and went on vacation together in June. It was wonderful and the most significant thing that happened in my life in 2019 but I’m not going to talk more about that here.

In August I celebrated reaching 1K followers by hosting a photo contest, which was awesome fun for me and I got nothing but positive feedback from those who participated.

Blogging takes hard work and dedication, from the start. I pride myself with having a quality blog and a high Flickr engagement. What’s the use of having 5K followers if you’re not engaging them? Will they remember your picture? Will they notice the brand you’re showcasing? Will they read your blog? Click on that Slurl? No, no, no and no. Ok, now I got derailed for a bit. Or maybe not, because..

In October I was nominated for The Bloggies. Being nominated was a great honour and it told me that I had managed to successfully enter the SL blogosphere and that my blogging was being appreciated by others. To those who nominated me, I’m sending a big big thank you your way.

So what’s in store for 2020? There’s a trip to the US in the very near future. I’ll of course continue blogging and I’m sticking to my all-round style because I love the freedom it gives me, the versatility. Every product is different, every picture lives its own life and sometimes it has a story to tell. What else? Whatever happens, happens. I’m approaching the new year with a positive mindset and my dreams and hopes for the future intact. I truly hope you can say the same. If not, then I wish 2020 is the year of positive change for you. Make it so.

The Executive

Contemporary, elegant and minimalistic is how I would describe the Executive, a new living room set by Aphrodite Shop/Heart Homes that is out now at the Man Cave event. The couch comes with single and couple bento animations (PG and Adult version). The set includes the couch, coffee table, table decor, rug, wall art, two decorative shelves and a chandelier.

I’ve also included the Raleigh set by Barley Home & Decor, to give my living room a touch of Christmas, without going overboard. I also wanted to mix a little bit of rustic feel into this modern space and the Raleigh Side Table and decor does just that. This set was at the most recent round of Belle and should soon be available in the Barley marketplace.

In my letter to Santa there is only one wish, one that can’t be bought. I’ll just keep it in my heart and hope that one day my wish comes true.

Fuyu no Yume

I rarely remember my dreams anymore, I blame a busy life and maybe also not getting enough sleep ;p When I was younger I remembered my dreams and they very often involved wild animals, especially bears and wolves even though I’ve never seen those animals in real life. Where I grew up the most dangerous predator was the wolverine. I used to follow their tracks in winter because I wanted to see them, but I never did find any.

DiMi’s “Happy Bears” winter scene took me straight into a winter dream and with the beautiful new Irezumi tattoo by CAROL G it became this, a bit of a Japanese inspired scene.

I just fell in love with the Irezumi tattoo the moment I saw it. Now, irezumi literally means ‘inserting ink’ in Japanese. The Traditional Japanese Tattoo “Irezumi” is the decoration of the body with mythical beasts, flowers, leafs, and other images from stories, myths and tales. The impetus for the development of the art was the progression of the woodblock prints and notably the “hero’s heavily decorated with Irezumi”. Wearing Irezumi is an “Aspiration” to life’s goals. Snow Covered

Second post today because I have so many awesome items I’d like to show you! Yes, I’m still at work and you might think I’m still procaffeinating but I’ve actually done some work and now I can upload the other picture I took yesterday and quickly, sort of, write this post. I think I’ll have a cookie with my coffee…

The beautiful Oak Tree Shrub by The Little Branch is a new release that is now available at Equal10. The Oak Tree Shrub is an intricately branched ornamental shrub with hollylike leaves. Good morning! Are you like me and need a cup of coffee or tea to start your day? I’m at work. I have opened my work e-mail and I took a peek at the cases in our incident report system because I’m going to do some case work.. but first, I need coffee. It might be the absence of daylight that’s affecting me (it’s 10 a.m. and dark as night), I’ve been super slow getting started today.

It’s good then, that No. 59 has made this amazing espresso machine! It can make you espresso, espresso lungo, latte, cappuccino, house coffee, hot chocolate and tea! Just click the power button to activate the machine and flip through the menu shown on the display. Click [START] and you can watch as the machine makes your brew of choice, when it’s finished the cup or glass will attach to your hand with a hold and drink animation. There are two types of machines; one with Experience (activate the experience on your parcel following the instructions in the attached notecard) and one with regular prop attach. It also has a HUD controlled texture changer.

Oh, and I’m wearing the FKD 2019 Christmas sweater which I’ve previously shown with a different texture. Bold and festive! 😉
