To Another Year Around The Sun

Cheers! It’s my birthday! And almost at the same time, 2020 is over and done with and we’ve celebrated entering the new year with great hope that 2021 will be the year we rid the world of the coronavirus pandemic. While the pandemic certainly put a damper on the overall mood throughout 2020, it was a good year for me personally. And just like last year, I can again say that I survived another year with all my hopes and dreams for the future intact. Cheers to that! Now I want to recap the year in Second Life. If you’re here for today’s blog details only, start scrolling! 😉

Blogging

During 2020 I’ve expanded my blog with several new sponsors, both Home & Garden and Fashion creators and I’m very pleased about the content I’m producing now, both quantity and quality. Because of the expansion I’m at a point now where I have to watch closely not to take on too much because I don’t want the quality to suffer. I’m open to feedback, so if there’s anything in particular you really like or something you dislike and you think I could do better, leave me a message!

Sander’s 2K Photo Contest

I reached 2000 followers on Flickr in February and celebrated with a photo contest just like I did when I reached the 1000 mark. The Stars on the Silver Screen contest was a great success. This time we limited the amount of entries per person to two but we still received double the total amount of entries. My blog sponsors were awesome as always and gave away $L30.000 in gift cards and prizes! We rolled out the red carpet and celebrated the winners like proper movie stars and pampered all the contestants with each their gift bag full of amazing items. I received so much good feedback I decided to do another contest when I reached 3000 followers. Now, some of you might have noticed, hey Sander… You have 3400 followers now and had no contest?? Yup, you’re right and here’s why..

The Bar and a new sim to call our own!

Mahogany and I got tired of renting land and since we need so much of it we decided to purchase a private region so in April we closed The Bar and moved. I spent spring and early summer doing a lot of terraforming and landscaping then real life interfered, I moved house and responsibilities changed and I had to pause the work on the region. Since I want my next photo contest to be held here, I put that on hold too. I’m happy to say I’ve been able to pick it up again lately and that we’ll be able to open the region to the public very soon and also be able to host a photo contest.

To all my amazing sponsors, blog readers, Flickr followers and random shoppers; thank you for the old and many blessings to you and yours in this new year. Cheers! Go out there and be awesome!
