Happy Pride to the LGBTQ+ community. You are all valid, you are all loved, you are all beautiful. Never stop believing that. Happy Pride to all LGBTQ+ allies who also celebrate. To those who don’t celebrate, I know most of you have an understanding of why Pride is important, and you let it happen without interfering. To those of you who for some reason don’t believe the queer community should be allowed this celebration, and even feel the need to go as far as writing hateful comments on social media; please realize you look like idiots. I know I’m being harsh, but this is the truth. Try to use this time for some soul-searching instead, and try to find some love and compassion in there, I promise you, this is what will make YOU happy in the long run, AND MAYBE even make those around you like you more! πŸ˜‰

Raindale has the wonderful Airvalley balloon 2024 PBR Promo in rainbow colors out for 50L at the Raindale mainstore for the Fifty Fifty Sales event this week. The colors are beautiful, and the PBR materials so wonderfully reflects the sun and the clouds. It contains solo and couple’s PG animations, is 4 Li out of the box, and Copy/Modify.

FANATIK updated their Nordic Pines a while ago with new materials and PBR. They look absolutely amazing! My copy of this product has a PBR reflection probe around each tree. Now, please note that this update was done while it was thought you needed a reflection probe around every single object, so if your items have that, you can edit linked and unlink the probe, and then delete it. Since there’s a global reflection probe implemented on all SL regions, you don’t need individual probes for your outdoor stuff. Not indoors either, but, for indoors items to properly shine you want to make a probe for each room of your house if it doesn’t already come with probes like that. Create the probe, stretch it so that the borders of the probe are inside the walls of the room. A poorly placed probe will create lighting issues, so make sure the sides of the probe are properly hidden inside the wall/floor/roof. Place lamps and lights, and play with the placement of the sun so it shines through your windows, and watch the wonders of PBR! Look how easily I derailed my blog!

The Sylvan bar table and stool from Scafall is a elegant and potent statement piece, and when I saw it the first time I immediately pictured it inside a grotto. Of course because of the stalagmite-like rock that the table is fused into, but, the Sylvan set will fit perfectly in any modern or contemporary style lounge or bar. The set consists of the rock table, a stool stool that contains 19 solo animations, including eat and drink, and a very stylish chandelier (light on/off upon touch). Available in the Scafall mainstore, and it’s at a 40% discount right now for members of the Scafall group in-world.

The Stelio bar cart from SQUARE was just a perfect fit in my stylish grotto bar. The bar cart comes fully stocked, and in black, white and wooden versions, and it dispenses a glass of wine upon touch!

Now. The grotto. This is an amazing grotto building kit from FANATIK. It’s not meant to be a huge intricate build, you have the Caves building kit for that, but still there are 32 unique mesh building pieces of 1-9 Li, 4 props (pile of coins, light rays, light fade, crystals), texture HUD with 4 rock types and 7 ground materials. Also you get 5 pre-built cave examples. I used the DaD Courtyard Roman Swimming Pool tiles for my grotto floor because I wanted a level floor for my drinking customers 😜

The Yoari house from La Petite Vie is a beautiful contemporary house, offering spacious living- and kitchen areas, a big bedroom, a gorgeous concrete terrace that’s like a piece of art attached to the house, and also a rooftop terrace for some relaxation in the sun. This house is breathtakingly beautiful, the lines. I particularly love the big windows, and big walls where you can hang your art. When you look inside, you’ll understand what I mean when I say it’s a contemporary interior photographer’s dream. I have one thing I would want that isn’t here, and that’s a back entrance through the terrace, but this is just a tiny thing really, I can walk around back and get the exercise. More pictures of the house in the slideshow at the end of this post.

Konoha is participating in this round of FaMESHed with the ‘Platanus Mari – Old Plane Tree T1‘. This is a stunningly beautiful mature Platanus, or plane tree. And if you know your trees you know that this one is big, as it should be. I had to resize mine down a little to fit more of it in my picture. It is 46 Li out of the box, copy/modify, and season change menu upon Touch. A gorgeous eye-catcher, in your park, or in the wild. Other plants in this picture are also from Konoha, see list below.

For this round of the Cosmopolitan event, CHEZ MOI released the Camperini Set. PG and Adult versions. The set contains camping chair, and portable kitchen. Raindale is at the Fantasy Faire with a big collection of wonderful fantasy creations. This scene is made up of only some of the items that are on sale at the faire, and the exclusive new creations where 100% of the sales revenue goes to the Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The rest are in 50% donation vendors, so if you’ve been saving up L$ for a big shopping spree, this would be where you spend them AND support a great cause at the same time.

The new Aprilwisp collection from Raindale contains the tiny pond, with extra water lilies, the Aprilwisp Flowers, with giant flowers in 5 colors, puddle, and optional plants, and extra sparkles.

I’ve always been a big fan of rocks. I’ve been collecting pretty samples for as long as I can remember. Now most of them have been returned to their original habitat lol as I’ve moved around quite a lot, but a couple of them I’ve kept because they are special to me. Like the melted rock I picked up outside a copper mine in my mom’s home town, for instance. Why am I talking about rocks all of a sudden? Well just take a look at the Duva Stepping Stones from Scafall, in the foreground of this picture! This is what they look like in a PBR viewer (I’m using Alchemy here). They also look good in non-PBR Firestorm viewer, but the ultimate level of rockiness is reached with PBR. See how the light from the Duva Lamp is reflected off the stone, as well as the soft orange light from the sun.

Still not sure what PBR is, or what the deal is? PBR is a way to render objects materials, making them look more realistic. Reflective surfaces are now possible, such as metal or glass. Overall PBR which is a standard in the gaming industry brings better visual quality. To be able to see PBR material, you will need a PBR compatible viewer. The official LL viewer is already compatible. Third party viewers such as Megapahit, Alchemy, Firestorm, or cool VL for instance are in a beta state for now. Want to know more? This Second Life wiki page is extremely helpful, especially if you’re a creator just starting to work with PBR materials.

So I’ve already mentioned the Scafall Duva Lamp and Stepping Stones. They are on sale right now in the Scafall mainstore for District69; 69L each!

DaD is participating in this round of ACCESS with the BellaVista Gazebo Set. This gazebo is made up of a worn green metal frame, wooden floor and beautifully detailed design of swirls and leafs in a garden-gate like look, along with long white drapes on each side. The Ribble Barn house from Soul2Soul is inspired by the natural stone renovated barns of the Ribble Valley in Northern England. A beautiful fusion between modern and traditional architecture, as the traditional stone barn buildings are converted and find new life as homes. I really enjoy this type of build, with the stone and wood mix. The L shape creates a secluded courtyard which is perfect for your outdoor seating, and also lots of possibilities when it comes to the interior design. The Ribble Barn is available at Cosmopolitan’s late April round together with a collection of Boxwood Potted Topiary.

Get comfortable where you’re sitting. Take a couple deep breaths. Scroll down this page, click play, and listen to one of the most beautiful songs ever written, performed by Etta James. It’s not a coincidence that I chose this song to this picture. I know someone who can sing it that way, meaning, it really touches your heart when you hear it, and she’s sitting here on this bench with me. And it’s part of our story, our journey. She’s mine at last, and the skies above are blue.

I’m blogging beautiful new items from Scafall and Konoha today, and also the Cliff Covers from FANATIK are making a reappearance, just because they are amazing looking cliffs. The Callao Talking Bench from Scafall is new in the Scafall mainstore for this week’s D69 sales. It’s a fantastic piece for, anywhere really, with beautifully textured wood slabs and rock. This bench is elegant in it’s simplicity. Containing solo sits and couple cuddles. A big thank you to Mahogany for joining me on the bench to try the animations, and for posing with me for the picture. This also made my song choice happen naturally.

The Konoha – Peach blossom – Prunus nora, is now available in the Konoha mainstore after being released for the Sakura Matsuri event. It comes with snow (soft link, so you can delete the snow. Unless you’re in Norway then the snow is still naturally part of the tree). With several gorgeous winter and spring blossom colors, and glow option too, this is bound to be one of the prettiest trees in your spring garden!
